When you purchase it, you will be issued with a dongle-based license that will allow you to render out from Blender with V-Ray. This product is effectively a V-Ray Standalone license. Whilst the plugin is free, it cannot be used to render until you have a standalone V-Ray license. V-Ray for Blender is effectively the combination of the V-Ray for Blender plugin and a V-Ray Standalone license.
